District Policies

 

 

Baby Pool Policy

The baby pool may be used from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM and 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM, Monday thru Friday, in one (1) hour increments only, during Swim Lessons. During these times, the baby pool will not be open for use by children six (6) and younger. People who do NOT have a pool pass, must pay a $1.00 admission fee for each adult and each child over three (3) years of age. Children age three (3) and under are free. Pass holders may use the baby pool for free during this time. All children MUST be supervised by an adult, and all other posted baby pool rules apply. Baby Pool patrons who want to stay and swim after lessons are over must pay the regular pool rate or use their pass.

The Illinois Department of Public Health requires that "Children at public swimming pools who are not toilet trained shall wear tightly fitting rubber or plastic plants. (section 820.360(j) of the Swimming Pool and Bathing Beach Code)." 

The Kingsbury Park District will strictly enforce this code. Approved swim wear will be available for purchase on site for swimmers who come unprepared. This code is for the protection of all bathers who visit the pool.

Ball Field Policy

Payment is required at the time the reservation is made. Reservation dates are not guaranteed, but are subject to availability. All reservations must be accompanies by a Certificate of Insurability with the Kingsbury Park District listed as "Additionally Insured."


Field Preparation is not available on Sundays. A full refund will be issued in the event that the Kingsbury Park District declares a ball field unusable due to inclement weather, as long as it is prior to field preparations being made. Once a field it prepared by the Kingsbury Park District, no refunds will be given, even in the event o rain later in the day. Field preparation or lighting fees will be refunded if the Kingsbury Park District is notified of the change at least two business days prior to the date of the reservation. Business days are Monday-Friday. The Kingsbury Park District does not allow any field preparation equipment to be brought onto the fields by anyone other than Park District personnel, with the exception of hand rakes.

The Kingsbury Park District will NOT issue a refund for any reason, other than those stated above.

Bike Policy - Pool

The Park District wants to remind all parents whose children ride their bikes to the pool, to provide your children with a lock. The Pool has provided two (2) bike racks for your convenience. For safety reasons, we require all bikes to be in the rack at all times, whether they are locked or unlocked. Bikes have gone missing in the past, so please use every precaution to insure your bike is secure.

Boating at Patriot's Park

Boats may be put on the Lake at Patriot's Park, only if they are trolling motors. A boat with a larger motor may enter the lake, as long as the larger motor does not touch the water. A permit is required to launch a boat at the lake.

Cold Weather Policy - Pool

If the outside temperature is lower than 70º F and the pool temperature is lower than 76º F the pool will be closed. The public will be notified with a message on the swimming pool phone, and announcement on WGEL, and a note on the door of the main pool entrance. The status of the pool will be re-evaluated at the next session time. 

Discipline Policy - Pool

The Kingsbury Park District Pool Discipline policy is as follows.

A Patron will receive a warning and a verbal explanation of the rule that was broken. If the offense is committed again, or warrants a write up, the patron will be asked to sit for a fifteen (15) minute time out. If the offense warrants more severe punishment, the Patron may be asked to leave the pool.

Anyone asked to leave the Kingsbury Park District Pool Due to a Disciplinary problem will also be asked to leave the property surrounding the Pool. This includes, but is not limited to, the playground, parking lot, athletic fields, shelter, and skateboard park. If a person does not leave after one (1) warning, the Greenville Police will be called.

If any patron receives three (3) write ups in a single week, they will be suspended from the pool and surrounding area for one (1) week. If a patron receives six (6) write ups in a season, they will be suspended from the pool for the remainder of the season.

If the patron is deliberately disobedient, disrespectful, or openly hostile (cussing will NOT be tolerated) to the Pool staff, they will be suspended from the pool for at least one (1) week. A longer suspension is always possible, based on the nature of the event.

Patrons causing severe disruptions from the pool operation, such as lewd or indecent behavior, trespassing, excessive profanity or vulgar language to other patrons or pool staff, violence or fighting, or any illegal or extremely dangerous behavior will be suspended from the pool indefinitely and the police will be tolerated.

Entering & Exiting the Pool

Patrons wishing to exit the pool during open swim times must obtain permission from the pool staff prior to exiting the pool facility if they wish to re-enter the pool. The District has painted a red line a the exit of the facility. Patron's that cross this line are considered to have exited the facility. Once a patron exits the facility without permission, they may not re-enter unless a parent or guardian accompanies them.

Free Shelter Policy

The Kingsbury park district will waive one (1) shelter reservation a year for a youth based organization or a Kingsbury Coach who wishes to have a team party.

Low Attendance Policy

The pool will remain open as long as there is at least one (1) pool patron remaining in the pool. If 2:30 PM is reached during the first swim session, and there are no patrons in attendance, the pool will close until 5:00 PM with a notice on the door of the Main pool entrance. If no one enters the pool after 5:30, for lap swim, the pool will close if that is the last shift of the day. If 7:00 PM is reached during the second open swim session, and there are no patrons in attendance the pool will close for the night.

No Smoking Policy - Pool

To comply with Smoke Free Illinois, a patron wishing to smoke, MUST be at least fifteen (15) feet from the Pool area. This means fifteen (15) feet from the entrance of the Bathhouse and the Fence surround the Pool Area and Concession Space. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

No Weapons Policy - Pool

No weapons (guns, knives, etc.) are allowed on Park District property. If a weapon is on site, the police will be called to handle the matter. The person possessing the weapon will be immediately banned from the Pool and surrounding area for the remainder of the season.

Open Swim Policy - Pool

Swimmers age four (4) and under MUST be accompanied in the water by an individual eighteen (18) years of age or older. Swimmers age five (5) to ten (10) MUST be accompanied in the water by an individual fifteen (15) years of age or older. Adults who accompany the above mentioned swimmers must enter the water with the swimmer. A maximum of four (4) children may be supervised by one (1) adult. Children ages seven (7) to ten (10) who are not accompanied by an adult must show a current Red Cross Level V Certification Card or Must Pass the Kingsbury Park District's approved swimming test administered by one of the lifeguards, in order to prove their swimming ability.

Patriot's Park Meeting Room

The Patriot's Park Meeting room requires the renter place a deposit of $100.00, on the building. This deposit shall be returned to the renter upon determination by the Kingsbury Park District that all rental/cleanup procedures are complete. All or part of this deposit shall be forfeited should the renter neglect any of the responsibilities on this contract. Renters are responsible or obtaining a key to the building. If the key is not left in the building when the event s over, a portion of the deposit may not be returned. The following MUST be completed in order for a full deposit to be returned: Floors swept and mopped, using the mop and PLAIN water; tables and chairs wiped down and returned to their original location; decorations removed (including hanging material such as string); garbage emptied and placed in the dumpster located outside near the main pavilion; bathroom wiped down, the thermostat reset to its original temperature; all lights turned of and door locked; and key left inside the building.


The Patriot's Park Meeting room is available for use 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM, daily. Candles are not permitted inside the building. Fryers of any kind will not be permitted inside the building or located on the back deck. No open fires/flames shall be permitted on the back deck, including (but not limited to) grills and fire pits. No decorations or other items may be affixed, taped, or tacked to any wall, door, window, or light fixture. Any damage caused by the use of decorations to the facility will be deducted from the renters deposit.
 Nails and staples are strictly prohibited! Smoking and alcoholic beverages are not permitted within the Patriot's Park Meeting room. The applicant will reimburse the Kingsbury Park District for the cost of any necessary clean-up or damages which the renter, or the guests, are responsible. The applicant shall be responsible for any thefts of Park District property or damage thereto and shall reimburse the Kingsbury Park District for the amount as the case may be for such thefts and damage to the location. 

All rental applications will be processed on a first come, first served basis. All fees and security deposits must be paid with the submittal of the rental application. Dates may be tentatively reserved by the calling or stopping by the Park District office. In order to
 CONFIRM a reservation date, however, the reservation fee must be paid and a signed agreement submitted within seven (7) days, of the original request being made. If either payment or the agreement is not received within seven (7) days from the day of the original request, the reservation will be cancelled immediately and without further notice.

The Park District and it's employees shall not be held responsible for damage to or loss of property or injury to persons while on park premises regardless of whether they are participants or spectators. All renters and their guests are expected to act in an orderly fashion and will be held financially responsible to any damage occurring to the building, grounds, or premises.

The applicant will reimburse the Kingsbury Park District for the cost of any necessary clean-up or damages which the renter, or the guests, are responsible. The applicant shall be responsible for any thefts of Park District property or damage thereto and shall reimburse the Kingsbury Park District for the amount as the case may be for such thefts and damage to the location.

The Kingsbury Park District reserves the right to refuse the use of any of it's facilities to anyone. If a scheduled event at any park is open to the public, a Certificate of Insurance naming the Kingsbury Park District as "Additionally Insured," is required.

Petition Policy

The Kingsbury Park District Petition policy is for those children one grade level younger than their age suggests. This policy allows these children to play team sports with other children in their same grade, not their age. In order to qualify for the Petition Policy, the child must be in the grade for the listed activity, and be within ONE YEAR of the maximum age range for that activity.

Pool Pass Policy

For the purpose of issuing Pool Passes, the Kingsbury Park District defines a "Family," as a mother and/or father/legal guardian, and their children living in the same household. There will be NO substitutions to this policy. Please note that Babysitters are not considered part of the family and will be required to purchase their own passes.

You MUST show your pass when entering the Pool. The staff will not grant admittance without verifying a Pool Pass. Anyone caught using a pass not issued to them will be subject to disciplinary actions.

Rain Out Policy

The Kingsbury Park District will NEVER decide on a rain out before 3:00pm.

We will follow this procedure in notifying everyone of rain outs:

1. We will contact the coaches. Please refrain from contacting the coaches concerning rain outs. 
    They will notify you as so as they hear.
2. We will Send out a Push notification on the Kingsbury Park District App.
3. We will post the cancellations on the Districts Facebook Page.
4. We will post the cancellation to the Home page of our website.
5. We will call WGEL, and they will make an announcement regarding the cancellations.
6. We will record a voicemail message on the answering machine at the office.

Please refrain from calling the office unless you have no other option. Often times we are unable to call the radio station or record a new message due to the abundance of incoming calls. It is easiest for all of us, if you check the App, the Facebook page, or the website before contacting the park district or the coach. 

Refund Policy

The Kingsbury Park District refund policy is as follows:

Refunds for Individual Activities
A 100% program registration fee refund will be issued only if a refund request form is received no less than three (3) business days prior to the start of the program. An 80% program registration fee refund will be issued only if a refund request form is received prior to the 2nd meeting of the program. There will be no program registration refund given after the second meeting of a program, except as defined under the Medical Refund Request.

Refunds for Team Sports Activities: 
A 50% program registration fee refund will be issued for team sports after the draft (please note the draft day on in the registration section). No refunds will be issued after the first game, except as defined under the Medical Refund Policy.

Medical Refund Requests: 
A pro-rated program registration fee refund will be issued based upon the number of sessions remaining in the program only if a refund request form is accompanied with a medical document. The request must be received within three (3) business days following the completion of the last scheduled meeting of the program.

Program Cancellation Refund: 
A 100% registration refund will be issued when the Kingsbury Park District cancels a program for any reason.

Shelter Refunds: 
Refunds will be issued only if the cancellation is made within ten (10) days of MAKING the reservation, as long as the shelter is reserved more then ten (10) prior to the reservation date. Reservation's taken ten (10) or fewer days prior to the reservation date must be paid at the time the reservation is taken and no refunds will be issued. No substitute dates will be allowed. 

Shelters- Jaycee Park

All rental applications will be processed on a first come, first served basis. All fees and security deposits must be paid with the submittal of the rental application. Dates may be tentatively reserved by the calling or stopping by the Park District office. In order to CONFIRM a reservation date, however, the reservation fee must be paid and a signed agreement submitted within seven (7) days, of the original request being made. If either payment or the agreement is not received within seven (7) days from the day of the original request, the reservation will be cancelled immediately and without further notice. No substitute dates will be offered.

The Kingsbury Park District reserves the right to refuse the use of any of it's facilities to anyone. If a scheduled event at any park is open to the public, a Certificate of Insurance naming the Kingsbury Park District as "Additionally Insured," is required.

 Alcoholic beverages are not permitted within the parks. Applicants who wish to rent the Jaycee Shelter on a Sunday may request the use of one of the ball fields.  This request must be made at the time the shelter is reserved. Any request to close the gates on Dewey Street is subject to permission from the Park District.  A key will be issued to the requestor for the gate locks, and a $25.00 deposit is required.  This deposit will be fully refunded when the key is returned. The gate lock key must be returned on the next business day after the event.  If not, the deposit will be forfeited.  The requestor assumes responsibility for closing and properly securing the gates before the event and opening and properly securing them afterward. 

Shelters - William S. Wait

All rental applications will be processed on a first come, first served basis. All fees and security deposits must be paid with the submittal of the rental application. Dates may be tentatively reserved by the calling or stopping by the Park District office. In order to CONFIRM a reservation date, however, the reservation fee must be paid and a signed agreement submitted within seven (7) days, of the original request being made. If either payment or the agreement is not received within seven (7) days from the day of the original request, the reservation will be cancelled immediately and without further notice. No substitute dates will be offered.

The Kingsbury Park District reserves the right to refuse the use of any of it's facilities to anyone. If a scheduled event at any park is open to the public, a Certificate of Insurance naming the Kingsbury Park District as "Additionally Insured," is required.

 

Persons renting the Wm S Wait Shelter will have the option of entering the Pool during regular open swim hours at a reduced group rate.  The rate is $2.50 per individual, with a minimum of 10 persons participating.  This is not considered a pool party and the participants must follow all rules of the pool.  This includes the policy for entering and exiting the pool, which is located in the Recreation Brochure and at www.kingsburyparkdistrict.com under Aquatics Information.

Skatepark

 The Kingsbury Park District is proud of this facility and hopes that you use it safely.  It is your skate park and as such, you have a responsibility to care for it.

 

The following guidelines and rules have been established to promote the safe and enjoyable use of the facility.  It is the responsibility of all users to know, understand and abide by these rules and guideline.  It is designed to encourage family use.  Please conduct yourself accordingly. 

 

·         Skate at your own risk.

·         Bicycles with plastic pegs and pedals only.

·         Helmets are required; protective gear is strongly recommended

·         Inspect the premises before use…. snow, ice, wet surfaces, litter and debris may affect skating conditions.

·         Please report any damage, hazardous conditions, concerns, and comments to the Kingsbury Park District.

·         This facility is unsupervised and self-policed.  Reckless and destructive skating jeopardizes the safety of others.  Do not use ramps and runs until they are clear of other skaters.  Do not skate against traffic.  Be respectful of other skaters.  Be a role model and mentor younger skaters.

·         All organized events require prior written approval from the Kingsbury Park District.

·         The use of placement of any unauthorized equipment or obstacles is prohibited.

·         Graffiti, tagging or other forms of defacing District property are strictly prohibited.  Waxing of skate park surfaces is prohibited.

Stormy Weather Policy - Pool

Patrons must clear the pool is the rain is hard enough to obstruct visibility to the bottom of the pool. If thunder is heard, or is lightning is seen, patrons must clear the pool for a minimum of thirty (30) minutes. For example, if Lightning strikes at 1:30 PM, then again at 1:45 PM, no one may enter the pool until at least 2:15 PM. If the Weather happens at an activity or game that is held outdoors, everyone must vacate the field of play for a minimum of thirty (30) minutes.

Swimming at Patriot's Park

There is no longer any swimming allowed at Patriot's Park.

Wedding Policy

 To hold a wedding at the park, we recommend that you reserve all four pavilions for the day of the event.  Because Patriot’s Park is a public facility, it is impossible to prohibit the general public from using the park on the day of your wedding.  However, reserving all of the pavilions will help to insure that the noise and activity of another event will not disturb your ceremony.  If you are reserving Patriot’s Park to hold a wedding, please note you are reserving the Shelters ONLY. Your reservation will not close the park to the public. Please Note this means there may be people not invited to your event, on the Lake, Play ground, Boat Ramp, Walking Trails, etc.

 

If you are planning to hire a professional service of any kind (DJ, tent setup, catering, etc.), each company hired will need to provide the park district a certificate of insurance naming the Kingsbury Park District as “additional insured.”

 

All policies regarding shelter rentals apply to weddings as well.
